A subsurface saṃsvedaja is an extraordinary being able to penetrate multiple surfaces — topsoil, water, its own skin, the boundary of life and death. Created after the artist moved to Hangzhou, the series is both an image-based field report from a de-anthropocentric perspective and a temporary altar connecting ancient mythology with the digital world.

对于人类来说，湿生生命乃是具有多种表面穿透能力的特异存在——穿透表土、水面、自己的皮囊，也穿透生死的边界。张文心移居杭州后以当地潮湿的自然环境为启发创作：大雨时进山拍摄，入夜时进入虚拟世界建模。既是一份去人类中心视角的图像式田野报告，也是一座以图像连接远古神话与数字世界的临时祭坛。
